PE pipe bundled outdoors in the sizes farms order for field mains

Applications

Agriculture & Irrigation

Pivot feeds, drip mains and rural water schemes, packed to cut freight cost per metre.

Bundles of blue-striped and black PE pipe racked outdoors, the sizes used for field mains

Irrigation projects are priced per hectare, so freight efficiency matters as much as the pipe itself. We coil small diameters in container-optimised lengths and plan mixed loads so a single container carries the full bill of materials rather than three partial ones.

Pressure classes from PN6 upward cover everything from low-pressure field distribution to pivot feed mains, with compression fittings for field assembly where fusion equipment is not available.

Key features

  • Coils to DN110, straight lengths to DN630
  • PN6 upward, matched to the hydraulic design
  • Compression fittings for field assembly without fusion gear
  • Mixed-load container planning to cut freight per metre
  • UV-stabilised for above-ground and semi-exposed runs

Frequently asked questions

How do we cut freight cost on a large scheme?
Freight, not pipe, is usually the biggest line on an irrigation budget. Coiling small diameters and planning a mixed load so one container carries the full bill of materials — mains, laterals and fittings together — beats ordering by product line. Send the full quantity list and we will plan the loading before quoting.
Can the pipe be joined in the field without fusion equipment?
Yes, with compression fittings up to around DN110, which is what most field crews use on laterals. Mains and submains should still be fused — compression fittings at larger diameters are expensive and become the weak point of the network.
Will the pipe survive above ground in strong sun?
Black PE100 with the standard carbon black content is UV-stabilised and rated for outdoor storage and semi-exposed runs. Permanently exposed lines still run hotter than buried ones, so de-rate the pressure for the actual pipe-wall temperature rather than the ambient air temperature.
