Structured wall drainage pipe stacked by diameter across the yard

Applications

Stormwater & Drainage

Gravity sewer, culvert and detention systems that install fast and stay tight.

Double-wall corrugated pipe stacked socket-out, sorted by diameter

Corrugated HDPE gives the ring stiffness of a much heavier pipe at a fraction of the weight, which is why drainage crews can lay more metres per day with less plant on site.

We supply DWC pipe in SN4, SN8 and SN16 with rubber-ring or electrofusion joints, plus fabricated manholes, inspection chambers and detention system components from the same shop.

Key features

  • DWC pipe DN100–DN1200 in SN4, SN8 and SN16
  • Rubber-ring socket or electrofusion jointing
  • Fabricated manholes and inspection chambers
  • Perforated and geotextile-wrapped assemblies
  • Detention and infiltration system components

Frequently asked questions

How deep can corrugated HDPE pipe be buried?
Deeper than most people expect, but the answer depends on the ring stiffness class and the quality of the surround, not the pipe alone. Well-compacted granular bedding lets an SN8 pipe carry loads that a poorly bedded SN16 will not. Give us cover depth, trench width, native soil and traffic loading and we will confirm the class.
Can drainage pipe be laid under a road?
Yes. SN8 is the usual class under trafficked areas and is what most municipal specifications call for; SN16 covers deep burial or heavy axle loads. The failure mode with plastic drainage pipe is almost always installation — poor compaction at the haunches — rather than the pipe class being wrong.
Is HDPE suitable for a combined sewer?
Yes. HDPE is inert to the sulphides and dilute acids that attack concrete sewers from the inside, which is exactly why it is specified for rehabilitation of them. For combined systems check the peak flow temperature — sustained hot trade effluent needs the pressure and stiffness de-rated.
